Oscar De La Hoya, a former boxer and current promoter, thinks David Benavidez could give Bivol a run for his money. De La Hoya said:
"I would go with Benavidez because he is more active and throws more punches and has better footwork than Beterbiev. He's smarter up there and knows how to think and how to adjust. I would go with Benavidez."
Benavidez, at 28 years old, is much younger than Bivol. He's already a two-time WBC Super Middleweight Champion and now holds the WBC World Light Heavyweight title. Fans call him "The Monster" because of his aggressive style.
The boxing world got a shake-up when Bivol decided to give up one of his belts. He did this to get ready for a third fight with Beterbiev. The WBC didn't waste any time and named Benavidez as their light heavyweight champion without him even having to fight for it.
A fight between Bivol and Benavidez would be interesting. Benavidez has the edge in youth and might be quicker on his feet. But Bivol has proved he's got what it takes to be at the top of the division.
Fans are now wondering if De La Hoya's prediction would come true. Will Bivol's experience trump Benavidez's youth and agility? Or will the younger fighter's smarts and adjustments win the day? It's a question that's got boxing fans talking.
