Chris Eubank Jr Hints at Surprising Twist in Conor Benn Fight Saga: "My dad's prediction shocked me"

The bout was initially planned for October 2022 but got called off when Benn tested positive for a banned substance. Since then, Benn has worked to clear his name and is now free to fight as of the end of last year.

Eubank Jr has had a busy time in the ring recently. He suffered his first career knockdown and loss against Liam Smith but bounced back with a stoppage win in their rematch. He followed that up with another victory inside the distance last October.

The build-up to this fight has been colorful. Eubank Jr got fined for smashing an egg in Benn's face, adding fuel to the fire of their rivalry.

In a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Eubank Jr shared some interesting insights about his father's stance on the fight. When asked about his dad's attendance, he said:

"I'm not confident of anything but I will try my best to get him there or facilitate him being there."

Eubank Jr also revealed that his father doesn't believe the fight will happen. He explained:

"He said 'the fight isn't going to happen'. It sounds crazy, but at the same time he said the same before the last fight so I can't even call it crazy now because it did happen the first time, but it's not going to happen this time, it's virtually impossible."

Chris Eubank Sr has been vocal about his concerns, especially regarding his son's weight loss to meet Benn's weight class. He's convinced the fight shouldn't go ahead.

As the fight date draws closer, opinions are split on who'll come out on top. With both fighters carrying their family legacies into the ring, it's shaping up to be an exciting night of boxing.
