Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn are set to face off in a long-awaited middleweight bout on April 26 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. The fight between these domestic rivals has been in the works for a while, with their original matchup scheduled for October 2022 falling through.

The cancellation happened after Benn tested positive for clomifene, a banned substance. Following the incident, Benn gave up his British Boxing License, but he didn't face any official punishment from governing bodies.

This upcoming fight carries extra weight due to a family feud that's been going on for over 30 years. Eubank and Benn's fathers fought twice in the 90s, adding a layer of history to this modern-day clash.

Unified WBO and IBF middleweight champion Janibek Alimkhanuly shared his thoughts on the matchup. The undefeated Kazakh fighter, who's defended his titles twice since adding the IBF belt to his collection last October, favors Benn to win.

"In [Conor] Benn I have some trust and I have some expectations. His performances and style is good."

Alimkhanuly's opinion carries weight given his own impressive record of 16 wins and no losses. He claimed the IBF world middleweight title with a sixth-round knockout of Vincenzo Gualtieri in October 2023 and has successfully defended his belts against Andrei Mikhailovich and Anauel Ngamissengue.

The Eubank Jr. vs Benn fight promises to be an exciting event, not just because of the fighters' skills but also due to the long-standing rivalry between their families. Boxing fans will surely be looking forward to seeing how this next chapter in the Eubank-Benn saga unfolds.
