Tyson Fury Picks Surprise Winner for Eubank Jr vs Benn Bout: "He's Got the Edge"

The bout was originally scheduled for October 2022 but got called off when Benn failed two doping tests for Clomiphene. Now, with Benn's provisional suspension lifted late last year, the fight is back on.

The weight for the fight has been set at 160 pounds, which is the middleweight limit. There's also a rehydration clause that puts a 10-pound limit on the morning of the fight. This weight agreement has caught the attention of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

In a recent interview with TNT Sports, Fury shared his thoughts on how the weight factor could influence the outcome:

"It's a weight category thing. If it's at 10 stone or whatever it is, 10 and a half stone, it's going to be Conor Benn, if it's at middleweight, probably Chris Eubank Jr."

Eubank Jr. is coming off a rollercoaster year. He got knocked out by Liam Smith but bounced back with a stoppage win in their rematch. Before that, he scored an early finish against Kamil Szeremeta. The middleweight has promised to "punish" Benn for what he sees as cheating.

On the other hand, Benn, who's 28, has been focusing on clearing his name and getting permission to box in the UK. He's had two low-level wins in the US recently. While he usually fights at welterweight (147 pounds), Benn claims he's confident about adding extra weight and keeping his knockout power. However, he went the full distance in his recent super welterweight (154 pounds) fights.

The fight also carries some family history. The fathers of both fighters squared off twice in the 1990s, adding another layer to this already heated rivalry.

More details about the event, including the undercard, are expected to be announced soon. With the date set and the fighters ready, boxing fans can look forward to a match-up that's been years in the making.
