Garcia's comeback follows a one-year suspension after he tested positive for a banned substance before his fight with Devin Haney last April. That bout, which Garcia originally won, was later changed to a no-contest because of the failed drug test.
Now, Garcia is set to face Rolando 'Rolly' Romero on May 2 in Times Square, New York City. The fight will headline a big boxing event in the heart of the city. If he comes out unscathed, Garcia hopes to take on Devin Haney next.
When asked about a potential fight between Stevenson and Davis, Garcia favored the current world lightweight title holder. He explained his prediction in an interview with YouTube channel:
"Shakur knows him well, they've sparred many times. I think Shakur would beat him right now. But Keyshawn could potentially beat him when he matures and grows up."
Despite Garcia's prediction, a fight between Stevenson and Davis, known as "The Businessman," seems unlikely. The two fighters have a close relationship outside the ring, making a matchup improbable.
Instead, both Stevenson and Davis might set their sights on WBA lightweight champion Gervonta 'Tank' Davis. A unification showdown could be on the horizon after Davis' rematch with Lamont Roach Jr.
For now, Garcia's focus remains on his upcoming bout with Romero as he looks to make a strong comeback to the boxing world.
