Dubois has been on a roll lately. He proved he can take heavy shots and dish them out too when he stopped Jarrell Miller late in their fight. Then he beat Filip Hrgovic and got bumped up to full IBF champ after Usyk gave up the belt. Sky Sports reported on Dubois' victory over Hrgovic, which set him up for big fights. He didn't disappoint, knocking out Anthony Joshua in the fifth round to defend his title.
Dubois was set to defend against Joseph Parker but had to pull out because he got sick. Now he's got his sights set on a rematch with Usyk.
The two first fought in August 2023. That fight had some drama when Dubois knocked Usyk down, but the ref called it a low blow. Usyk ended up stopping Dubois in the ninth round.
In a recent chat with TNT Sports, Dubois was asked if Usyk hits hard or if it's just his speed that's dangerous. Here's what Dubois said:
"Speed I guess. Everyone at that level is a good heavyweight so I think speed and the condition I was in."
Dubois thinks Usyk's speed is his big weapon, but he also pointed out that all heavyweights at that level are tough. He added that his own condition during the fight was a factor too.
Right now, the heavyweight division's all split up with different champs. Everyone's trying to be the one to unify all the belts. Dubois has been knocking guys out left and right and is becoming a real force. Usyk, known for his skills and speed, already has three of the heavyweight belts.
Usyk wants to be a two-time undisputed champ, but he's got to deal with a WBO order to fight Joseph Parker first. It looks like both guys have some work to do before we might see them in the ring together again.
