Roy Jones Jr., a boxing legend and four-weight world champion, has picked his top four greatest fighters of all time. The former undisputed light heavyweight champ shared his thoughts in a recent interview.
Jones, who racked up 66 wins in his career, named his personal "Mount Rushmore" of boxing. He's fought some of the best, including wins over Bernard Hopkins, James Toney, and Felix Trinidad.
Speaking to RealLyfe, Jones revealed his picks:
"If I had to pick my own Mount Rushmore. I'd put Ali first. I'll take myself out because I'm the one doing it. I'd put Sugar Ray Robinson second. I'll probably put Roberto Duran third, he beat Julio Cesar Chavez and Salvador Sanchez so he's got to be three. I'll probably put Mike Tyson somewhere around number four."
Muhammad Ali, known as "The Greatest," tops Jones' list. The heavyweight icon left a lasting impact on the sport and beyond.
Sugar Ray Robinson takes the second spot. Robinson dominated the welterweight division from 1946 to 1951 and won the middleweight title twice in the 1950s. He ended his career with an impressive 174 wins.
Roberto Duran comes in third. The Panamanian fighter won world titles in four weight classes from lightweight to middleweight. He finished with 103 victories to his name.
Mike Tyson rounds out the list at number four. "Iron Mike" became the youngest heavyweight champ ever at just 20 years old. He ruled as the undisputed champion from 1987 to 1990.
Jones and Tyson actually crossed paths in the ring. They fought an exhibition bout in 2020. More recently, Tyson made headlines with a controversial clash against Jake Paul.
Jones, a Hall of Famer himself, has even hinted he might be open to facing the YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul under certain conditions.
