Teddy Atlas, a famous American coach, commented on the early victory of Deontay Wilder in a fight with Robert Helenius.
“Team Wilder chose Helenius for a reason, and here’s why. Boom. Typically, Wilder uses the jab to set up a right hand. Today he used his legs for this. I give him credit for creating the opportunity for a counterattack. For me, this fight started like the Joshua-Ruiz rematch when Anthony came out lighter and with a new style. Wilder did the same. As in the Ruiz-Joshua rematch, not only was Wilder lighter, but Helenius was heavier than in previous fights. He didn't see the blow. I know that the Helenius-Wilder fight was not a rematch, but like Joshua, who was coming back from a knockout from Ruiz, Deontay was completely different."
Recall that Wilder finished Helenius in the first round.
