The International Boxing Hall of Fame has announced the lists of contenders for 2021. Among this year's three newcomers in the "modern" category, i.e. boxers who ended their careers at least 3 years ago, long-time P4P ranking king the legendary Roy Jones, who held titles in four weight classes, the spectacular Acelino Freitas, who held titles in the second featherweight and lightweight, and the long-time flyweight champion Phongsaklek Wangchongkham.

Last year's group of nominees was also joined by Timothy Bradley and Antonio Tarver.

The choice will be made by boxing journalists. Anyone eligible to vote can choose up to 5 candidates. Voting will continue until the end of October and the results will be announced before the end of the year. The three boxers with the most votes will join the honourable group of Hall of Fame members.
