Manny Pacquiao (61-7-2, 39 KOs), who on July 20 on the MGM Grand arena in Las Vegas will cross his gloves with WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman (29-0, 22 KOs), spoke about his future opponent: “He was the best fighter available,” said Pacquiao.
“Thurman with his style ensures that together we will give a great fight. Fans will be pleased. In my opinion, Keith is not only one of the best welterweights out there, but also on the top of the P4P list. And this is the reason why we chose him. In his last fight, he didn’t look very good after a long break, but this fight gave him a lot and, for sure, in our fight he will be in much better shape,” said Pacquiao.
Pacquiao in mid-January, relatively easy beat Adrien Broner on points. Thurman returned a week after that after a two-year layoff and beat Josesito Lopez, although he went through several difficult moments during the battle.
