Whittaker confident, peak St. Pierre would beat Khabib

Robert Whittaker, the former UFC middleweight champion, believes that the organization's former two-weight champion George St-Pierre would beat Khabib Nurmagomedov, the former lightweight champion, in peak form.

"George, when he came back to fight Bisping, looked pretty bad. He was able to win, but you could see he wasn't as good as he used to be. You know, you need St-Pierre in his best form to beat Khabib. I think George in his prime would have beaten Khabib. He's much more versatile, he has wrestling, jiu-jitsu skills that offset Nurmagomedov's strengths. St-Pierre used to be a really tough fighter. If he didn't want to fight you in the standup, he would take the fight to the ground, if he didn't want to fight you, he would start punching in the standup. He was a really versatile fighter," Whittaker said on the MMArcade Podcast.
