"Obviously the most important fight on the card was the fight between Max Holloway and Justin Gaethje. I've been telling everyone not to discount Max Holloway. People were talking about their fight as if these guys are on completely different levels, which was a shock to me. I had no expectations that Holloway was going to send him to a knockout. However, I felt that Max would have a good chance to prove himself in the fight or even win. I mean, Max was winning those exchanges, and then all of a sudden, boom, knockout. I didn't expect that. I had a feeling he'd win, but not like this. Unbelievable performance. After our last fight, a lot of people thought Max was done. But no, that's not the case at all. He's always been good and we just made sure of that again," BJ Penn quoted Volkanovski as saying.
Alex Volkanovski, former UFC featherweight champion, reacted to the outcome of the fight between Arman Tsarukyan and Charles Oliveira, former UFC lightweight champion. Alex believes that the referee's decision in this fight is fair.
"Initially I was leaning towards Charles winning. Many were in agreement with me. But Arman showed resilience, got out of several Oliveira sub-misdos and took the victory by judges' decision. Respect to Tsarukyan. And it was a fair decision by the judges," Volkanovski said on his YouTube channel.
Recall that Arman Tsarukyan won against Charles Oliveira only by a split decision of the judges. Their fight took place on April 14 in Las Vegas as part of the anniversary UFC 300.
