UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski commented on his victory over Diego Lopez and shared his future career plans.
Today, February 1, in the main event of UFC 325 in Sydney, the Australian defeated the Brazilian by unanimous decision.
"Fights, I have to admit, don't get easier. A lot happened during the camp, but we overcame it. Difficulties are a kind of privilege, as I like to say. They excite me. I wanted to take him down. I wanted to grab him and topple him, but he was strong. I didn't want to strike for 25 minutes, to be honest. But the job is done, so everything's fine.
Diego's team did a great job. For example, in the first fight, I was constantly moving to the right, and this time he blocked it well. But I just switched to my other tools. So when they fix their mistakes, I adjust on the fly. And that's really what distinguishes champions.
Future plans? Well, I've made it clear that I'm ready to fight anyone. We'll see how it all goes. Evloev and Murphy are probably fighting each other now, so we'll wait and see," said Volkanovski.
