Donchenko highlighted Makhachev's dominance in wrestling, noting that none of the current contenders can compare to him in this aspect.
In an interview with the podcast Bowks Talking Bouts, he stated: "No one has the same level of wrestling as Makhachev. Maybe Morales will be an interesting opponent for Islam because he has knockout power. And everything can change at any moment of the fight.
But all the others in the division don't have such wrestling skills. Not even Kamaru Usman. Shavkat Rakhmonov could have been a good opponent, but he is currently injured. So the only interesting fight for Islam is Ilia Topuria and Yaroslav Amosov."
