Ronda Rousey, a former UFC champion, spoke about why MMA fans still adore Khabib Nurmagomedov.
"I think the only reason why MMA fans adore Khabib so much is because he left before reaching his limit. If he had continued to fight until he lost, everyone would say: 'Khabib is nothing, he never was.' They are like that with everyone. Name even one. 'Brock Lesnar is nothing, he never was.' Name even one former champion who gets as much respect as the current ones. It's very sad, because such an attitude makes fighters leave at their peak, taking all their legacy with them, instead of passing it on to the next generation."
