Belal Muhammad, the UFC welterweight champion, was willing to amputate a finger to be able to fight Shavkat Rakhmonov.

"It got to the point where I said to the doctor - what if I got rid of my finger? What do I need to do to get back as soon as possible? But he replied that I should forget about staying in the fight as the infection could spread higher up the foot and then I would have to amputate. It was heartbreaking news for me, but obviously God had a different plan for me and it all happened for a reason"
