Mike Tyson has named four heavyweight boxers he thinks were better than him. The former champ picked Jack Dempsey, Sonny Liston, Muhammad Ali, and George Foreman as the greatest of all time.
Tyson made waves in the mid-1980s when he won his first 19 fights by knockout. Twelve of those knockouts happened in the first round. In 1986, at just 20 years old, he became the youngest heavyweight champion ever. He knocked out Trevor Berbick in the second round to win the WBC world heavyweight title.
Tyson's rise continued as he unified the division at 21. He added the WBA belt by beating James Smith and the IBF title by defeating Tony Tucker.
On The Big Podcast with Shaq, Tyson was asked to name his 'Mount Rushmore' of heavyweight boxing. He didn't include himself in the list.
"Jack Dempsey, Sonny Liston, Muhammad Ali, and George Foreman," Tyson said.
Even with troubles outside the ring in his later career, Tyson is still seen as one of the greatest fighters ever.
Last November, at 59 years old and after nearly two decades away from the ring, Tyson stepped back in. He fought YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul at AT&T; Stadium in Texas. Paul won by unanimous decision. After the fight, Tyson said he was done with boxing for good.
