Manny Pacquiao's Next Fight Hinges on Barrios Outcome, Says Boxing Insider: "It's a Game-Changer"

Pacquiao hasn't fought professionally since August 2021. He lost to Yordenis Ugas in a WBA welterweight title fight. Now, nearly four years later, he's ready to lace up the gloves again.

If Pacquiao wins, he'll break his own record. He became the oldest welterweight world champion at 40 when he beat Keith Thurman in 2019.

Sean Gibbons, Pacquiao's advisor, told reporters that the future is wide open for the Filipino star:

"Everything is on the table. Those are questions you need to ask Floyd Mayweather. Manny Pacquiao is open to do anything."

While fans have speculated about a rematch with Floyd Mayweather, it's not likely. Mayweather is 49 and retired, and the skills gap might be too big now.

More realistic options could be fights against current champions like Gervonta Davis or Rolly Romero. Pacquiao has said he wants to face Davis, the WBA lightweight champ.

To get ready for his comeback, Pacquiao went back to the boxing gym where his career started 24 years ago. He'll need all that experience when he steps into the ring on Saturday night.
