Tyson Fury picked Muhammad Ali as the winner in a hypothetical matchup against Lennox Lewis. The current heavyweight boxer, who recently retired, made his choice during an interview with Mail Sport Boxing.
Fury didn't take long to decide when asked who'd come out on top between Lewis and Ali in their prime. He quickly said, "I'm gunna go with Ali."
Both Lewis and Ali were dominant heavyweight stars in their eras. Lewis became the undisputed champion in 1999 when he beat Evander Holyfield. He kept fighting until 2003 and beat every opponent he faced. Some of his big wins were against Mike Tyson, Frank Bruno, and Vitali Klitschko.
Ali, known as "The Greatest," had an amazing career. He was the undisputed champion from 1974 to 1978 and held the WBA and Ring heavyweight titles until 1979. Ali won 56 out of 61 fights before he retired in 1981.
People remember Ali for his quick feet, fast hands, and how he confused his opponents. He was also famous for his poetic trash talk before fights. Outside the ring, Ali stood up against the Vietnam War. This cost him his world titles and got him banned from boxing for several years.
Right now, Oleksandr Usyk is the undisputed heavyweight champion. Fury tried to beat Usyk twice but couldn't do it. He decided to retire in January 2023.
The heavyweight division is getting ready for another big fight. Daniel Dubois will face Usyk for the IBF world title and a chance to become the undisputed champion.
