Roy Jones Jr's Blunt Assessment of Floyd Mayweather's Legacy: "He's Not..."

It all began when Jones shared his thoughts on how Mayweather would fare against some of boxing's all-time greats. Mayweather didn't like what he heard. He fired back by posting a video on social media showing Jones getting knocked out in a fight.

Jones wasn't about to let that slide. In a recent interview with Seconds Out, he had plenty to say about Mayweather's claim of being 'The Best Ever'. When asked if that claim was accurate, Jones' initial response was short and sharp: "At making money."

But Jones didn't stop there. He threw down the gauntlet to Mayweather, challenging him to settle their differences in the ring:

"If you want to fight, come on. You don't have to troll me, come see me. That's who I am. I don't do talk well. I ain't heard nothing yet but they know where I'm at and they know where to find me. It ain't going to be no exhibition, I want it real. What we going to play for? We ain't playing. I ain't anyway. I can have my own opinion, if you got a problem with my opinion I'll be willing to fight about it. If you want to do something about it, come on. Inside the ring, outside the ring, we can do it however you want to do it."

This isn't the first time Jones has taken issue with Mayweather's boasts. He's criticized Mayweather before for saying he's better than Muhammad Ali.

While it's likely Mayweather will respond to Jones' latest challenge soon, fans shouldn't get their hopes up for an actual fight between these two legends. The chances of them meeting in the ring are slim to none.
