Zab Judah Returns to Ring for 'Legends' Bout: "I'll Show Why Floyd Called Me His Toughest"

Mosley's return comes almost ten years after his last professional bout. In 2016, he faced David Avenesyan, the former WBA 'regular' world welterweight champion, and lost. Now, he's set to lace up the gloves once more.

During his 23-year professional career, Mosley grabbed world titles in three weight classes. But he's perhaps best remembered for a fight he didn't win. In May 2010, Mosley faced Floyd Mayweather at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Mayweather, widely seen as one of boxing's all-time greats, had a 21-year career that saw him win world titles in five weight classes and beat stars like Canelo Alvarez, Oscar De La Hoya, and Manny Pacquiao.

But it was Mosley who came closest to ending Mayweather's unbeaten run. In the second round, Mosley landed heavy right hands that had Mayweather in serious trouble - the first time anyone had hurt him like that. Mayweather recovered and won by unanimous decision, but that moment cemented Mosley's place in boxing history.

Now, Mosley's preparing for his comeback. He was initially set to face actor David Kurzhal, but plans changed. His new opponent is Matt Floyd, an internet personality with 17 fights under his belt.

‼️The Full Card for Right2Fight headlined by Shane Mosley v Matt Floyd has just been revealed including the names of Big Tobz, Tommy Hench & Pro Boxer????????

This tweet from IFN Boxing on June 26, 2025, confirmed the matchup and revealed other fighters on the card.

For Mosley, this fight marks a return to the spotlight after a long break. It's a chance for fans to see a legend in action once more, and for Mosley to show he's still got what it takes to put on a show.
