Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor are set to make history once again. The two boxing stars will headline the first-ever all-women's boxing card at Madison Square Garden on July 11. This event marks a pivotal moment for women's boxing, shining a spotlight on the ongoing battle for visibility, respect, and equal pay in the sport.

Ticket sales for this trilogy fight have already surpassed those of their first matchup. That initial bout, held at the same venue in April 2022, was a major milestone for women's boxing. Their rematch in November 2024 drew an impressive 74 million viewers worldwide.

Jake Paul, Serrano's promoter, has made a bold $1 million bet with Mike Tyson on the outcome of the fight. In a FaceTime call shared on social media, Paul and Tyson laid out the terms. Paul said, "If Katie wins, you get $1 million. If Amanda wins, I get $1 million." Tyson added, "You have to take me out to dinner too." Paul agreed, confidently stating, "Alright, I'll take you on a date. Amanda's gonna win, baby."

Serrano's career has seen a dramatic turnaround since joining Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) in 2021. Before MVP, she struggled to make a living in boxing. After joining, her earnings skyrocketed from $350,000 to $400,000, and then to $1 million for her 2022 fight against Taylor. Paul has even offered Serrano a $5 million deal, which includes opportunities in film and mainstream media. Serrano initially thought the offer was "crazy."

Jake Paul, along with co-founder Nikisa Bidarian, has played a crucial role in elevating women's boxing through MVP. Their efforts have brought unprecedented attention and financial opportunities to female fighters.

Women's boxing has come a long way since Elizabeth Wilkinson and Hannah Hyfield faced off in London in 1722. The sport saw a rise in popularity in the 1990s with fighters like Christy Martin. In 1977, Eva Shain became the first female judge in a heavyweight title bout, marking another significant milestone.

As fight night approaches, fans wonder: Will Serrano avenge her two previous losses, or will Taylor reaffirm her dominance? Regardless of the outcome, this event will undoubtedly be a defining moment for women's boxing.
