Chris Eubank Sr has taken back his words about coming back to boxing. The British boxing legend recently said he'd return for an exhibition if his son rematched Conor Benn. Now, he's changed his mind.

Eubank Sr's initial statement caused quite a stir. He suggested he'd step into the ring again to stop his son from taking a risky fight. The weight difference between Eubank Jr and Benn worried the former champion.

But it seems Eubank Sr didn't expect people to take his words so seriously. He cleared things up on his YouTube channel 'Call Chris Eubank'. At the end of a recent video, he included a written statement:

"I officially withdraw the statement I made about "fighting again" if my son fights, as some people are taking it seriously."

Eubank Sr's original announcement fits a trend in modern boxing. With social media and big money fights, older fighters often hint at comebacks for the right opponent or paycheck.

We've seen this play out recently. Mike Tyson, way older than his opponent, fought Jake Paul in November. Carl Froch said he'd consider a return for the right money, even calling out Jake Paul. Roy Jones Jr, in his 50s, named three potential opponents he'd face. Shannon Briggs keeps promising he'll box again.

Even Manny Pacquiao, at 46, is stepping back into the ring for a world title fight against Mario Barrios.

As for the Benn-Eubank Jr rematch, it's not officially announced yet, but it's in the works. Both fighters seem keen on it. Eubank Sr, who beat Benn Sr on points in their fight, doesn't want the second match to happen. That's a big change from the first fight's promotion, where he played a major role.
