Robin Reid, a former British world champion, believes Carl Froch would win a hypothetical fight against Joe Calzaghe. Reid, who fought both men during his career, shared his thoughts on this long-debated super-middleweight matchup that never happened.

"The Pride of Wales" Calzaghe retired unbeaten after 46 fights. He moved up to light heavyweight to beat Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones Jr. before hanging up his gloves. Calzaghe also holds wins over Mikkel Kessler and Reid himself, though Froch later called the 1999 decision against Reid controversial.

"The Cobra" Froch's career included two fights with Kessler, winning one and losing the other. He also stopped Reid in the fourth round of their 2007 bout.

Reid, the former WBC super-middleweight champion who retired in 2012 with 42 wins (27 by knockout), shared his prediction with Hannibal Boxing:

"If it's the Calzaghe that I fought, I think Froch would have done it with his right hand. Calzaghe threw a lot of punches, but they weren't devastating punches. I just think Froch would have walked through him."

Reid's opinion contrasts with that of Frank Warren, Calzaghe's former promoter. Warren backs Calzaghe to win the imaginary clash.

The debate about this fight continues to capture fans' imaginations, even though both fighters have long since retired. Calzaghe and Froch's legacies in British boxing ensure their hypothetical matchup remains a hot topic of discussion among fight fans.
