Oleksandr Usyk Reveals Surprising Pick for Prime Mike Tyson's Toughest Challenge: "He'd Give Him Fits"

Usyk knows a thing or two about both men. He's faced Joshua twice in the ring, winning both fights on points to claim and then defend three major heavyweight belts. He's also studied Tyson's explosive style as part of his own journey to the top of the sport.

When asked by DailyMail Sport who would win between Joshua and a prime Tyson, Usyk didn't hesitate to back AJ.

The Ukrainian's opinion carries weight. He's dominated two weight divisions, becoming undisputed cruiserweight champion in 2018 before moving up to heavyweight. There, he's beaten top contenders like Chazz Witherspoon and Derek Chisora before his landmark victories over Joshua.

Usyk's winning streak continued with a knockout of Daniel Dubois last August. He then added the fourth and final belt to his collection by beating Tyson Fury in May 2024, cementing his status as undisputed heavyweight champion with a points win in their December rematch.

Joshua's height and reach advantages could be key factors against Tyson's explosive aggression and intimidation factor. The big question is whether AJ could control Iron Mike's ferocious style.

While this fantasy matchup will never happen, both fighters have plenty on their plates in the real world. Joshua is currently recovering from an elbow injury after a stoppage loss to Dubois last September. He's expected to return to the ring later this summer.

Usyk, meanwhile, is gearing up for a rematch with Dubois on July 19, 2025. A win would make him a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion, further solidifying his place among boxing's all-time greats.
