Caleb Plant steps back into the ring this Saturday, May 31, in Las Vegas. The former IBF super middleweight world champion takes on Jose Armando Resendiz at the Michelob ULTRA Arena.
Plant wants to get his career back on track after a couple of tough losses. He lost to Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez in his bid for the undisputed title and then fell short against David Benavidez. But he bounced back with a win over Trevor McCumby in 2022.
Now, Plant faces Resendiz, who brings a record of 15 wins, 2 losses, and 11 knockouts. The interim WBA title is up for grabs in this fight.
The Michelob ULTRA Arena, part of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, will host the event. This 12,000-seat venue has seen some big fights before, like the clash between Amir Khan and Zab Judah back in 2011.
Fans can catch the action on Prime Video, which has exclusive rights to show the fight in the United States. The preliminary card starts at 8:00 PM ET (5:00 PM PT), with the main event expected to begin around 11:00 PM ET (8:00 PM PT).
"I'm ready to put on a show," Plant said at the press conference. "Resendiz is a tough opponent, but I've trained hard and I'm focused on getting the win."
This fight gives Plant a chance to string together victories for the first time since 2021. A win could put him back in the mix for bigger fights in the super middleweight division.
