Jake Paul might get a shot at a world title soon. The 28-year-old from Cleveland, Ohio has been offered a potential fight against WBC cruiserweight champion Badou Jack.
Paul started boxing professionally in 2020, facing Ali Eson Gib in his debut. Since then, he's racked up 9 wins and 1 loss in 10 fights. He's faced some big names like Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, and Nate Diaz.
At the start of 2023, Paul suffered his first loss. Tommy Fury beat him by split decision. But Paul bounced back. In November, he won on points against 58-year-old Mike Tyson in an 8-round bout at AT&T; Stadium in Texas.
The fight with Tyson drew a lot of attention, and now Paul's got another big match coming up. He'll face former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr on June 28 at the Honda Center in Anaheim.
But the potential fight with Badou Jack is getting people talking. Jack, the 41-year-old Swedish boxer, holds the WBC cruiserweight title. He used to be the WBC super-middleweight champ too. Jack recently won a majority decision against Noel Mikaelian on May 3 in Riyadh.
When asked about fighting Paul, Jack said:
"I never heard about that, whatever. It's a money fight. It's an easy fight and it's a money fight So, why not?"
Jack was responding to Paul's claim that he could knock him out.
Meanwhile, Paul's getting ready for his fight with Chavez Jr. The legendary boxer Julio Cesar Chavez Sr, Chavez Jr's father, has even made a prediction about the match.
Paul's boxing career keeps surprising people. From YouTube star to potential world title contender, he's definitely making waves in the boxing world.
