Tyson told iFL TV he thinks the fight would be great for both boxers and the fans. He said:
"I think it's beautiful for both of them. They both go home, take care of the fans and also earn a great sum."
The former heavyweight champ believes people still want to see Fury and Joshua face off, even though both have had some recent setbacks. Tyson added:
"I think they both had previous fights with some skepticism, but it would still be a fight that the public would want to see."
Fans have wanted Fury and Joshua to fight for years. The boxers have come close to signing a deal before, but it's never happened. Now, the chances of the fight happening seem slimmer than ever.
Fury recently lost two fights in a row to Oleksandr Usyk and says he's retiring. His promoter Bob Arum doesn't think Fury will fight again. On the BBC 5 Live Boxing podcast, Arum said:
"If I were a betting man, I would say he will never fight again."
Arum referenced a famous quote from Marvin Hagler to explain why he thinks Fury's done: "A rich guy who goes to bed in silk pajamas doesn't get up in the morning to work on the road." Arum believes Fury's lost his drive to fight.
Joshua, on the other hand, got knocked out by Daniel Dubois in a shocking upset. But he still wants to fight Fury. Joshua said:
"Hopefully [the fight with Fury] gets done. The industry shouldn't go without it."
Joshua knows he needs to step up his game. He admitted:
"Being good is not good enough in boxing... I need to up my game."
If the Fury fight doesn't happen, Joshua has other options. He could face Deontay Wilder, Martin Bakole, or Agit Kabayel.
Tyson's pick for the fight he most wants to see might surprise some people. He didn't mention Canelo Alvarez, who's seen as one of boxing's biggest stars right now. Instead, Tyson, who recently got back in the ring at 58 years old, is more interested in seeing these two British heavyweights settle things in the ring.
