Scull, a 33-year-old Cuban boxer, won the IBF super middleweight world title last October. He beat Vladimir Shishkin by unanimous decision. That victory put Scull on the boxing map after staying undefeated in 23 fights since 2016.

Born on June 6, 1992, in Zorrilla, Los Arabos de Matanzas, Cuba, Scull came from a humble family. His father, a former amateur boxer, spotted his talent early. The young Cuban started competing at a young age with strong family support.

Scull's journey took him from Cuba to Argentina, where he had a son. He then moved to Berlin, Germany, before settling in Mallorca, Spain. His mother plans to join him in Mallorca, hoping to buy a house with his fight earnings.

The Cuban champion, known as "Indomitable", isn't as well-known as some of boxing's biggest names. He's seen as somewhat dangerous but not on the level of the great Cuban boxing legends.

Canelo picked Scull as his opponent for the first of four fights in Saudi Arabia. The Mexican superstar signed a deal with Turki Alalshikh for a series of bouts in the country.

This match-up comes as a surprise to many in the boxing world. Scull hasn't been widely discussed in recent years. The fight will give him a chance to prove himself against one of boxing's biggest stars.
