Oleksandr Usyk's Next Move: Roy Jones Jr's Surprising Heavyweight Picks

Usyk, a generational great in the heavyweight division, is planning the last stages of his remarkable career. He's already proven himself as a former undisputed heavyweight champion and has beaten Tyson Fury twice. Last year, he also stopped Daniel Dubois in a controversial fight that saw Usyk down for several minutes after an alleged low blow.

Now, as Usyk aims to become a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion, he's got his eyes on Dubois and the IBF strap he holds. But Roy Jones Jr has other ideas.

In an interview with Pro Boxing Fans, Jones shared his thoughts on Usyk's potential opponents:

"Joseph Parker would be a great fight for Usyk, and I don't know, maybe 'AJ' for a third time, maybe see if 'AJ' can change it up a bit and put it on him. There are several people but those are my top two."

Jones' suggestion of Parker as an opponent is interesting. Parker is actually the WBO mandatory challenger, and there's been talk of the WBO allowing a four-belt clash with Dubois to take precedence. This bout is close to being finalized.

As for Joshua, a third fight with Usyk would give AJ a chance to try a different strategy. Their previous encounters ended with Usyk's hand raised, but boxing fans know anything can happen in a heavyweight clash.

While Dubois is still high on Usyk's list due to his IBF title, Jones' suggestions offer intriguing alternatives. As Usyk looks to cement his legacy in these final fights, the boxing world waits to see who he'll face next in the ring.
