Benn, known as "The Destroyer," has won all 23 of his professional fights since starting his career in 2016. His most notable win came against Chris Algieri nearly four years ago. But Dobson, who fought Benn in Las Vegas in February 2022, wasn't impressed with what he saw.
"I don't think he can really go that far, when I say he's green I'm not saying it just to say it. He's really green like I see all his punches, he does the same thing every time, a lot of it was landing on my shoulders and my gloves."
Dobson told YouTube that Benn's success comes from his athleticism, but that won't be enough at the highest level of boxing.
"He's just really athletic and I feel like when you get to the higher level everybody's athletic, so that's when skills come in to play. He actually had a pretty good jab but he was throwing it at the same speed, he has no trickiness and he does the same thing over and over again. I don't think he can go far with that in boxing."
Benn's career hit a roadblock in October 2022 when he tested positive for a banned substance, forcing the cancellation of his first scheduled fight with Eubank Jr. Now, the two bitter rivals will face off on April 26 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
This fight will be Benn's toughest test yet. He'll move up from his usual 147lb welterweight limit to 160lbs to take on Eubank Jr. With Dobson's critical assessment in mind, all eyes will be on Benn to see if he can prove his doubters wrong and show he has what it takes to compete at the highest level.
