Jake Paul and Michael Bisping got fans talking about a possible boxing match. The idea came up after Bisping put out a training video.
Paul, the YouTuber who became a boxer, has a record of 11 wins and 1 loss. He's known for his strong punching power, with 64% of his wins coming by knockout. He recently beat Mike Tyson in a fight that a lot of people watched.
Bisping, a UFC legend and Hall of Famer, retired from MMA in 2018 because of eye problems. But his recent training video showed he's still got some skills. In the clip, he looked sharp hitting the mitts.
"I stay in shape-always ready for a scrap," Bisping said on his Believe You Me podcast.
Paul has made a name for himself by fighting former MMA stars like Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley. A fight with Bisping would fit that pattern.
Fans got excited about the idea on social media. Some think Bisping's experience would be too much for Paul. Others aren't so sure, pointing out that Bisping is 46 years old and has been retired for a while.
Paul hasn't said anything about the potential fight yet. His last bout, against Mike Tyson, drew 72,000 fans to AT&T; Stadium. He's also been busy outside the ring. A recent Netflix special about him was watched by 60 million households, according to Variety.
"I'm chasing legends-someone who'll test me," Paul said on the Full Send Podcast on March 20.
Whether Bisping fits that description remains to be seen. For now, fans will have to wait and see if this match-up becomes more than just talk.
