Legendary Promoter Urges Tyson Fury's Return: "He Owes It To Himself"

Fury lost his last two fights against Oleksandr Usyk. In May last year, he missed his chance to become the undisputed champion when Usyk beat him by split decision. Then in December, Usyk won again on points. After that, plans for a big fight with Anthony Joshua fell through when Fury announced his retirement in January.

Arum shared his thoughts on Twitter, saying:

"I think Tyson Fury owes it to himself and his family to remain happily retired. Not from life, because I believe he has a lot in front of him, because he's a good communicator and he's an entertainer, but I don't think he should step in the ring again because I think he's had enough."

The promoter pointed out that Fury's made plenty of money in the last couple of years. He thinks Fury can do more good outside the ring now:

"Fortunately in the last two years of his career he earned so much money that his family and himself are never going to want for money. I would advise him not to ever go back in the ring, but to make himself useful as a spokesperson because he can communicate extraordinary well. People are intrigued by him and I think he can do a lot of good."

It's not the first time Fury's said he's retiring only to come back. Some fans still hope he'll fight Joshua. But for now, Joshua's left without an opponent. There's even talk he might fight YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, which has been floating around for the past week.
