Dubois burst onto the scene as a teenage heavyweight with huge power. He had a good run early on but hit a setback when Joe Joyce stopped him. Joyce's ram-rod jab damaged Dubois' eye, ending the fight.
After building back from the Joyce loss, Dubois got a shot at Usyk's unified heavyweight titles in Poland last August. He had Usyk down in the fifth round, but the referee ruled it a low blow. Usyk went on to stop Dubois inside nine rounds.
Dubois has also shared many sparring rounds with former WBC king Fury. When asked to compare the power of Fury and Usyk, Dubois told The Ring Magazine that Usyk hits harder.
Usyk and Fury have shared 24 rounds together, with each man hurting the other at times. In their first fight, Usyk had more success rocking and wobbling Fury. He became undisputed champion but dropped the IBF belt soon after. Usyk then won the rematch and now aims to become a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion and three-time overall including his cruiserweight reign.
Right now, Usyk wants to fight Dubois again. But mandatory challenger Joseph Parker stands in the way. Dubois also wants another crack at Usyk.
As for Fury, he announced his retirement a month after losing to Usyk for the second time. So far, he's shown no signs of changing his mind about hanging up the gloves.
Interestingly, The Sun reported that Fury once sparred with Dubois while wearing only one shoe. That quirky detail adds another layer to their shared ring history.
