The long-awaited matchup comes after over two years of delays and controversy. Their original bout was called off in October 2022 when Benn failed a drug test. He's since fought a long battle with UKAD and the British Boxing Board of Control to clear his name and resume his career.

"That shell goes in your eye you could be out the fight … What I didn't like about that is I've got two scratched eyeballs and the eye never fully heals. If a bit of eggshell goes in your eye that's a nasty scratch on your eye."
Bellew thinks the move crossed a line. He worries that even a small scratch from eggshell could potentially force a fighter out of a bout. He also predicted the incident will make Benn really angry, possibly for days.
Promoter Eddie Hearn was on stage when it all went down. He was furious about Eubank Jr's stunt, which has only added more fuel to the fire between these bitter rivals.
