Chris Eubank Sr Reveals Unexpected Next Opponent for His Son: "It's Not Conor Benn"

Eubank Sr, who's 58 and sometimes chimes in on his son's career, believes Junior needs to settle an old score. He thinks his 35-year-old son from Brighton should try to avenge his first loss, which came against Saunders back in 2014.

The elder Eubank shared his thoughts on his YouTube channel, Call Chris Eubank. He said:

"You lost to a fighter called Billy [Joe] Saunders, you shouldn't have lost that fight. You lost it because you were disobedient to the plan that I gave you, you started fighting after the sixth round to prove to me that you can beat him at anytime."

Eubank Sr reckons his son lost because he didn't listen and got influenced by his promoter.

As for the planned fight against Conor Benn, Eubank Sr doesn't think it'll happen. He stated:

"There will be no fight night [against Conor Benn]. Like it didn't happen the first time, I believe in the rules. I've said on my channel that the fight doesn't happen, what more is there to say. My words will age well, as you'll see."

But the fight is set for April 26 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. It's been rescheduled from October 2022 when Benn tested positive for a banned substance. The bout brings back memories of the 40-year-old feud between their dads, who fought twice in the early 90s.

Eubank Jr has had some success in his career, winning the WBA 'Interim' world title at middleweight. He's only had one shot at a full world title, losing to George Groves in 2018. Now, he's got a chance to step out of his dad's shadow and make his own mark. We'll have to wait and see if he listens to his father's advice or sticks with the Benn fight.
