Tony Bellew thinks Joseph Parker will beat Daniel Dubois in their upcoming heavyweight fight on February 22.
Parker's been on a roll lately. He beat Zhilei Zhang and Deontay Wilder in his last two fights. Dubois has also looked good, knocking out Jarrell Miller and Fillip Hrgovic. After the Hrgovic fight, Dubois got elevated to full IBF champion. He then knocked out Anthony Joshua in September.
Bellew shared his thoughts on the fight with Sporting Talk. He believes Parker will come out strong and take control early.
"I think Joe Parker comes out and sticks a hard jab on him, lands a few hard shots early doors, he takes over the fight and wins at a canter."
Bellew sees some issues with Dubois' style. He says Dubois is strong but doesn't adjust well when things get tough.
"He's a strong boy Daniel Dubois but he's very tunnel visioned. He sees straight ahead and goes for you and he's all in."
Parker needs to get after Dubois from the start, according to Bellew. He can't let Dubois build any confidence. If Dubois gets on top, Parker could be in trouble.
Dubois has shown some limitations in the past. His losses to Oleksandr Usyk and Joe Joyce highlighted some weaknesses in his style.
The winner of this fight might get a shot at Oleksandr Usyk later in 2025 for all the heavyweight belts.
Parker seems confident heading into the fight. He believes Dubois might look for a way out if things get tough. We'll see how it all plays out on February 22.
