Oliver McCall, a 59-year-old former heavyweight champion who once beat Lennox Lewis, is getting ready to step back into the boxing ring this week. This comeback has raised eyebrows in the boxing world.

McCall's return comes just days after another controversial comeback fight. Mike Tyson, 57, faced Jake Paul in Arlington, Texas over the weekend. The fight, streamed live on Netflix, lasted eight two-minute rounds. Tyson lost by unanimous decision but left the ring without any visible injuries.

Now, it's McCall's turn. He's set to face journeyman Stacy Frazier in a four-round bout at the Texas Troubadour Theatre in Nashville. The Tennessee Athletic Commission has sanctioned the fight, which Jimmy Adams Promotions will put on.

McCall's career spans from 1985 to 2019. He's best known for his upset knockout victory over Lennox Lewis in 1994. After that win, he defended his title against Larry Holmes in 1995 before losing it to Frank Bruno. Bruno had tried and failed to win a belt three times before.

McCall and Lewis met again in 1997. This time, Lewis won by stoppage after McCall had a breakdown in the ring. Throughout his 74-fight career, McCall was never knocked down. He also spent time as Mike Tyson's sparring partner.

Many in the boxing community don't welcome McCall's return to the ring at his age. The sport's dangers are well-known, and fighters nearing 60 face even greater risks.
