Before the fight, boxing legend James Toney thought Tyson would knock out Paul in just 30 seconds. Toney, a Hall of Fame boxer who won titles in multiple weight classes, even said he wanted to fight the winner.
But things didn't go as Toney expected. Paul, the YouTuber-turned-boxer known as "The Problem Child," dominated the 58-year-old Tyson. "Iron Mike," who hadn't fought professionally since 2005, looked like a shadow of his former self.
After the fight, Toney wasn't happy. He responded to an Instagram post that said, "Mike Tyson you let the culture down for a bag… you sold out. James Toney you said you got the winner- beat up Jake Paul."
Toney added his own comment: "They really don't want this. I don't follow rules."
Even though Toney seems eager to fight Paul, it's not likely to happen. Paul has gotten an offer to fight a current world champion who's considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighters.
Toney, nicknamed "Lights Out," had a great career. He fought from middleweight all the way up to heavyweight, winning world titles along the way. His last fight was a knockout win over Mike Sheppard in 2017.
The Paul-Tyson fight surprised many fans and experts. It showed how much Tyson has slowed down with age, while proving that Paul's boxing skills have improved significantly since he started his career.
