Raymond Muratalla (24-0, 17 KO) won by split decision over Andy Cruz (6-1, 3 KO) in the main event of the evening at Matchroom Boxing in Miami, successfully defending his IBF lightweight title. After twelve rounds, one judge scored the fight a draw 114-114, while the other two scored it 116-112 and 118-110 in favor of the American.

The 29-year-old Muratalla quickly took control of the fight, forcing Cruz, who looked physically weaker, to defend. The Cuban relied on speed and counterattacks, but Muratalla was steady and often landed his right hand on target. The American thus had a successful first defense of the championship belt, which he won last year.

At the same event, Israil Madrimov returned to the ring after losing to Vergil Ortiz, defeating Luis Salazar.

Light heavyweight Khalil Coe also recorded a win, defeating Jesse Hart by split decision.
