Daniel Dubois and his team are getting ready to pick his next opponent for the IBF heavyweight title defense.
'Dynamite' Dubois has become one of the most in-form boxers in the world. He's won his last three fights by stoppage, even though they looked tough on paper.
Dubois got his IBF belt after beating Fillip Hrgovic in Saudi Arabia last June. He then defended it for the first time in September, stopping Anthony Joshua in the fifth round.
Joshua wanted a rematch right away. But his promoter, Eddie Hearn, says AJ might not be ready to fight again as soon as February because of some small injuries.
So, who's next for Dubois? His promoter, Frank Warren, told BoxNation they're looking at a few options.
"We're not going to be rushed into any of them. It's got to be something that suits everybody involved, and more importantly, suits Daniel."
One name that's come up is Fabio Wardley. He just knocked out Frazer Clarke in the first round of their British and Commonwealth title fight. But Warren doesn't think that fight will happen next.
"I don't see that happening next. I think Fabio, Fabio would fight anybody, he's a fighting man, he comes from an unlicensed background, you've seen what he's all about, he gives everything and he goes to fight. For me, that fight could be built into something mega."
Another possibility is Joseph Parker. He's beaten both Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang in the last year, making him perhaps the most deserving challenger.
Warren said about Parker: "I like most of the fights out there and that's one of them, but we'll see, we're not going to be rushed into any of them. It's got to be something that suits everybody involved, and more importantly, suits Daniel."
Dubois is expected to fight again in February. His team will need to make a decision soon to give his opponent enough time to prepare.
