Mike Tyson Delivers Blunt Verdict on Canelo-Benavidez Showdown: "It's Not Even Close"

Mike Tyson thinks David Benavidez will beat Canelo Alvarez in the ring. The former heavyweight champ shared his views while getting ready for his own fight against Jake Paul.

Tyson's match with Paul is set for Friday, November 15, at AT&T; Stadium in Arlington, Texas. This venue has seen big boxing moments before. In May 2021, Canelo Alvarez stopped Billy Joe Saunders there after eight rounds, keeping his world titles.

Canelo has never lost at 168 pounds, the super-middleweight class. But Tyson believes Benavidez, who's been after a fight with Canelo for years, can change that.

Benavidez has a perfect record of 29 wins, with 24 by knockout. He's moved up to light-heavyweight recently, still chasing that Canelo fight.

In a recent video, Tyson explained why he admires Benavidez:

"His attitude. He was a little heavy fat kid and he wanted to prove himself to the world."

Tyson's confidence in Benavidez is clear. He stated:

"I think he beats everybody he gets in the ring. He could beat everybody, my money is with Benavidez until he gets beat, and then if he gets beat I'm still with him."

Benavidez isn't sitting idle. He's got a fight coming up in January against David Morrell.

As for Tyson, he's hitting hard in his recent sparring sessions, getting ready for his bout with Jake Paul. The boxing world will be watching to see if Iron Mike still has what it takes.
