Boxing Legend Roy Jones Jr. Weighs In On Dream Heavyweight Matchup: "It's Not Even Close"

Roy Jones Jr thinks Lennox Lewis would beat George Foreman in a hypothetical heavyweight clash. The former multi-weight world champion shared his opinion during a recent interview with MailSportBoxing.

Lewis, known as "The Lion," had an impressive career in the heavyweight division. He won Olympic Gold and became the undisputed heavyweight champion. Lewis avenged his losses to Hasim Rahman and Oliver McCall, and defeated big names like Frank Bruno, Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson, and Vitali Klitschko. He retired in 2003 with a record of 41 wins (32 by knockout) in 44 fights.

Foreman also had a remarkable career. He won the world heavyweight title from Joe Frazier in 1973 but lost it to Muhammad Ali in the famous "Rumble in the Jungle" in 1974. Foreman retired in 1977 but made a comeback a decade later. At 45, he became the oldest man to hold the world heavyweight title.

Both Lewis and Foreman were part of the heavyweight division's golden generation in the 1970s and 1980s. The era produced iconic events like the "Rumble in the Jungle" where Foreman lost his world heavyweight title to Muhammad Ali.

Jones Jr gave his verdict during a "Winner stays on" feature with MailSportBoxing. When asked who would win between Lewis and Foreman, Jones Jr simply stated:

"Lennox Lewis."

Lewis held the distinction of being the last undisputed heavyweight champion until recently when Oleksandr Usyk claimed that title by defeating Tyson Fury.

Both Lewis and Foreman have been inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame and the International Boxing Hall of Fame, cementing their legacies as two of the greatest heavyweights in boxing history.
