Tyson Fury will get another shot at Oleksandr Usyk in December. The two heavyweights are set to face off again in Saudi Arabia, with Fury looking to bounce back from his first career loss.
Fury's defeat to Usyk in May was a surprise to many. The 'Gypsy King' had been unbeaten for a long time and never lost his belts in the ring. He first won world titles back in 2015 when he beat Wladimir Klitschko. After that, he stepped away from boxing for two years due to mental health issues.
When Fury came back, he had to fight his way to the top again. He did this in a big way, taking on Deontay Wilder in a three-fight saga. Their first fight ended in a draw, but Fury won the next two by stoppage, claiming and then defending the WBC title.
Fury says he didn't take the first Usyk fight seriously enough. He claims he was having too much fun and promises to be better prepared this time around.
"Fury will learn from this [loss] and he'll be back! Losing is also part of the game, it's how you respond to a loss that makes all the difference."
That's what Lennox Lewis, a former undisputed heavyweight champion himself, had to say about Fury's chances. Lewis thinks Fury can turn things around in the rematch.
If Fury does win against Usyk, it could set up a big fight with Anthony Joshua. But that depends on Joshua beating Daniel Dubois for the IBF title at Wembley later this month. If both British fighters win, we might finally see that long-awaited grudge match next year.
