Roy Jones Jr Reveals Surprising Take on Tyson-Paul Bout: "Not What You'd Expect"

Mike Tyson and Jake Paul are set to face off in a pro boxing match on November 15. The eight-round contest, with each round lasting two minutes, has got people talking due to the 30-year ...

Roy Jones Jr, who fought Tyson in an exhibition bout called "Lockdown Knockdown" during the COVID-19 pandemic, thinks Tyson will win. Jones and Tyson's fight ended in a draw after eight rounds.

Speaking to FightHype, Jones shared his thoughts on the upcoming match:

"I think it's a great fight and a great marketing situation as well because a lot of people want to see it. It's a young lion and an old lion. It's a great situation for them. It gives Jake a chance with Mike being as old as he is. I think it's a great opportunity for both fighters but I still think Mike is gonna be a little bit too much for Jake."

Jones believes Tyson's power will be too much for Paul in the early rounds. He says the first three rounds will be "devastating" for the younger fighter.

"If [Jake] can get to round four or five maybe, yeah, but he has to get out of them first three rounds … [Mike's] still got the power. The first three rounds are gonna be devastating … [If Mike catches him] it's over, if he throws them. You the old lion, so go ahead and do what you gotta do to get it over with."

Jones, who calls Tyson the hardest puncher he's been in the ring with, thinks Paul's youth could become an advantage if he survives past the fourth or fifth round.

The fight was originally set for an earlier date but got pushed back due to Tyson having an ulcer flare-up. Netflix confirmed the new November 15 date.

Paul, known for his brash personality and YouTube fame, is trying to make a name for himself in boxing. He fought on the undercard when Tyson and Jones Jr met in the ring.

With the match just months away, fans are eager to see if Jones' prediction will come true or if Paul can pull off an upset against the boxing legend.
