Oscar De La Hoya Reveals Surprising Take on Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul: "Only One Man at Risk"

None

Mike Tyson and Jake Paul will face off in a boxing match this November. The fight will take place at AT&T; Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and Netflix will broadcast it live.

The bout has stirred up controversy due to the significant age gap between the fighters. Tyson, the older former heavyweight champion, will step into the ring against Paul, a YouTuber turned boxer who's less than half his age.

Originally scheduled for July, the fight got pushed back when Tyson had an ulcer flare-up. Now set for November, the match will consist of eight two-minute rounds with 14-ounce gloves. The result will count on both men's professional records.

Oscar De La Hoya, a former fighter who's now a promoter, shared his thoughts on the matchup. He said:

"It's not going to be dangerous for Tyson. It will not be dangerous for Tyson because Tyson has been up in the ring with monsters. He has a chin. I'm sure he can go six rounds, seven rounds, eight rounds, you know, but I'm just worried about Tyson's legacy. That's it."

De La Hoya believes the fight won't pose a physical risk to Tyson. However, he's concerned about how it might affect Tyson's legacy in boxing. He also mentioned that while a lot of people will watch the fight, it might be sad for Tyson.

Tyson made history as the youngest ever heavyweight champion at just 19 years old. He knocked out his first 19 opponents within six rounds and faced legendary boxers like Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis, and Larry Holmes. Tyson has hinted at a possible rematch with Paul, depending on how this fight goes.

Paul, on the other hand, has a record of 10 wins (7 by knockout) and 1 loss in 11 fights. His only defeat came against Tommy Fury. Most of Paul's wins have been against relatively inexperienced fighters or MMA stars crossing over to boxing.

The fight has got people talking, and many are unsure how it will impact the sport of boxing. One thing's for sure - a lot of eyes will be on this unusual matchup come November.
