Malignaggi: "Wilder doesn't fight with a killer instinct anymore"

Famous American boxing veteran, expert and commentator Paul Malignaggi commented on the failure of former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder in his fight with Zhang Zhilei.

On June 1, in the main event of an evening of boxing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the American lost to the Chinese by knockout in the fifth round.

"Wilder doesn't fight with a killer instinct anymore. He thinks too much and defends himself. Wilder was the most exciting super bantamweight of a generation. The trilogy with Fury was incredible, he was one of the best in a decent time for the division.

In the fight with Zhilei, Wilder fought to survive. He's exhausted mentally. He just needs a couple royalties," Malignaggi told ProBox TV.
