Former UFC welterweight title challenger Stephen Thompson gave commentary on the fight with the undefeated prospect Shavkat Rakhmonov, which will take place on December 16 at the UFC 296 tournament in Las Vegas.
“The UFC offered me a fight with Rakhmonov, who is ahead of me in the rating. And not only this. Shavkat is one of the scariest guys in the UFC at the moment. Undefeated, 100% finish rate, super strong and super tough.
It's my time to prove to myself. I see the battle with Rakhmonov as my blessing. “I go up against a fighter above me in the rankings, win and prove that I’m still worthy of a title shot,” Thompson said on The MMA Hour.
