Former world champion and now British coach Barry McGuigan is convinced that his compatriot Anthony Joshua Under no circumstances should you agree to a fight with an American Deontay Wilder.
“His desire is frustrating. If I were Joshua's mentor, I wouldn't let him come within a shot of Wilder. This guy has incredible power in his hands. I know he's vulnerable and Fury has timed him out, but he has a very powerful punch. Wilder can take Joshua's head off.
Why would he take such a risk? I don't think avoiding this fight is a bad idea. If I were him, I would try to win the belt again. Fight Fury or meet Usyk again,” Boxing Social quotes McGuigan as saying.
Let us remember that earlier, Josh's promoter Eddie Hearn said that the fight with Wilder would definitely not take place in January in Saudi Arabia, since the proposed deal for the venue had completely failed.
