Jake Paul (6-0, 4 KOs) reported that pay-per-view sales of his fight with Anderson Silva last week were between 200,000 and 300,000 purchases. The American expected a better result and claims that the sale was prevented by the recognition of the Brazilian, who, a few days before the fight, said that during the preparation he was knocked out twice.
After Silva's recognition, the Arizona State Athletic Committee even met to consider canceling the fight. In the end, additional medical examinations were carried out, which confirmed that the Brazilian was ready for the fight.
Paul said that up to this point, PPV sales had been going well, but after the aforementioned incident, interest in the evening definitely waned. If the results reported by Paul are confirmed, it will still be three times better PPV sales than the recent fight between Deontay Wilder and Robert Helenius.
